Steel City Nationals invade Southpark BMX
Previously, the annual trek to Southpark had been held over the 4th o' July and was called the Stars & Stripes - but for 2016, the date and name had been changed. It's now the Steel City Nationals - an appropriate name considering that ever other car in this town has some sort of Steeler logo on it and plenty of houses fly the Steeler's flag year-round. The new early-August date seemed to be good timing as well, as we were in for great weather all weekend (only a tad bit of rain over night, just to wet down the track). The one thing that hasn't changed, though - is super fast, totally gnarly race action on one of America's fastest and most famous BMX tracks!
