Richfield Park BMX News

  • Winter race being re-schedule again.

If you have been watching our post on the track Facebook page, you would have noticed that the volunteers and I have chose to re-schedule this Sundays Winter race ( 1-14-18).  There hasn't been a decision yet as to what date, but, it's likely we will move it out into the month of February.  Maybe by then the sub-zero temps will have run their course and allow for us to race without getting frost bite on our toes.  Not sure if anyone else has raced outdoors during the wi...

  • TODAYS RACE IS RESCHEDULED. PLEASE PASS THE WORD

For anyone who keeps tabs on our Facebook page, the temps at the track are still in the single digits which play a strong part in our deciding to reschedule the race for Sunday January 14th.  It's a crazy idea and we want to make sure we follow through on having a outdoor winter race @ Richfield Park BMX.  We just want to make sure that  our gate ram doesn't freeze up and nobody walks away with frostbite.  Unless your going to wear Iceman boots to race in, the feet...

  • FLAT PEDALS OPEN EARNED DOUBLE RESCHEDULE FOR OCTOBER 22ND.

ATTENTION:  Due to the rain that will extend into Sunday, we have rescheduled the Flat Pedal Money Open Earned Double points race.  Please pass the word that the race will take place next Sunday on October 22nd.  The registration time will stay at 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and racing will begins ASAP after motos are posted.    Rather than have riders and families waiting until the last second, we have also updated our Facebook page with the same information.  ...

  • TODAYS RACE IS CANCELED. PLEASE PASS THE WORD

TODAYS SCHEDULED RACE AT RICHFIELD PARK BMX IS CANCELED. Due to our volunteer staff being on vacation, at the National Event in Louisville, or spending time with their families during the Labor Day holiday the race was canceled.  The track will be open to the public for riding and practice.  We apologize for any inconvenience or change of plans the cancellation may have caused.    Our next day of gate practice is this coming Wednesday from 5 - 8 pm.  We also ...

  • Earned Double Money Open Flats race rescheduled

Please take note that our Earned Double Money Open Flats Race has be rescheduled to October 15, 2017.  The date of August 27th was in conflict with another Money Open race taking place within a few hours from Richfield Park BMX.  Rather than make racers decide which race to participate in, we decided to push the race forward to a time frame when not much else is going on.  Keep an eye on our facebook page to stay up to date on this event.  Money Open classes will be 15 to ...

  • Upcoming Earned Double Points Race - Flats Only Money Open

Flat Pedal Money Open is in the Making at Richfield Park BMX. Do you race on flat pedals?  Have you been looking forward at some point in time for a old school flat pedal race during the race season?  Been wondering just how well racers that clip would do in a Flat Pedal Open?  Well, the opportunity is going to be a part of the Richfield Park BMX race season.  On Sunday August 27th our track is hosting our first Flat Pedal Money Open.  Currently we have a $500 pot ...

  • Be a volunteer and ad to your resume of experience

Like many tracks across the United States, Richfield Park BMX relies on volunteers to keep the race program alive and growing.  This year is not unlike any other.  We are looking for volunteers and those who may be searching to do community service that can help at our track.   Hopefully, we can bring in some volunteers through community service that will continue to stay with the sport and join us as board members of the future and keep our track as one of the most prefer...

  • New pics from step table into the first turn at Richfield Park BMX

A lot was accomplished today in our goal to shape in and finish the step table leading into the first turn.  Thanks to track President Eddie Isom and his son Trenton, we were able to finish up the jump before heavy snows blanket the track for the winter season.  I will posting pictures taken today of the completed step table.  Just hope there are no technical problems getting them posted.  With the step table completed, our attention will move to working on other areas of ...

  • Transforming first straight jump and changes at RPBMX

This past week, track supporter Mike Flynn was able to get Richfield Park BMX a Bobcat that allowed us to proceed with making changes on the track surface in a much shorter time frame than simply using picks, shovels, and rakes.  In a matter or four days, about 60% of the jump that was referred to as Mt. Richfield was brought down.  What is left will be enough to shape a good sized step table to flow into the first turn.  Racers had informed us in previous years how the straigh...

  • Preparing for 2015 & Winterizing track building.

Seems like it was just a couple of months ago that the track was having it's Opening day race.  Winter weather has caught up with us here in Michigan and with it comes the process of closing up the track and the buildings.  So far, our storage area has been put in more orderly fashion and anything that we could shut down to save electricity has been taken care of.  Due to past experience, audio equipment has been moved out of the building and all the pipes holding...
