General Information
Capital City BMX is a bicycle motocross race track located at the Lions Park, 516 Dennis Ave, Raleigh, NC 27604. Capital City BMX is 100% Operated by Volunteers and the track schedule it limited to that of our volunteer staff. Please check the schedule or goto our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/capitalcitybmxnc for designated racing/practice times. The racing season generally starts in February/March of each year (weather depending) and conclude on December 15th of each year. BMX racing is open to boys, girls, men and women of all ages. Come join the fun!
Schedule
- CCBMX Races Every Sunday afternoon with Practice and Registration beginning at 12:30pm thru 1:30pm with Racing Generally at 1:45
- Our Practice Schdule will vary throughout the year. Fall/Winter Months from November thru March practice will be on select Saturdays at 12:30pm. Summer months April thru October practice is on Tuesday and Thursday Evenings starting at 5:30pm

Membership:
- A USABMX Membership is required for any on track activity. If you are not a current USABMX member a Free 1-Day Trial can filled out here https://www.usabmx.com/trial be sure to select NC-Capital City BMX as the Track Hosting Event
Bring your Bike:
- Any BMX type and size will do, but we recommend that you start with one that has a 16" to 20" wheel diameter - as that is the allowable limit in the Novice class. You may race any bike with larger wheels in the Cruiser class.
- Make sure all bolts are tight - especially your axle and stem bolts.
- Remove any freestyle-type axle pegs
- All reflectors/brackets must be removed for safety purposes
- If your bike has a kickstand, it must be taken off
- Rental Bikes are available in limited quantities for $5 per bike.
Required clothing and safety equipment:
- Helmet (full-face helmet recommended) - Full Face Helmets Available to Rent at NO Additional Cost.
- Long sleeve shirt (or pads)
- Long pants or jeans (or pads)
- Any enclosed shoe is sufficient. Skateboard style/Flat Bottomed shoes are recommended
Capital City BMX Offers Rental Bikes and Equipment for New Comers looking to try the sport without spending a lot money!
BMX racing is open to any boy or girl who can ride a bike – ages 2 – 92. At Capital City BMX, the racing season lasts all year long, as weather permits. You can fit BMX racing in between other activities, like work, school, sports, church, and scouting. Spectators are always free at local races.
Capital City BMX is officially sanctioned as a USA BMX track by the American Bicycle Association. Each rider is permitted one trial race, after which you must purchase a 12-month full membership from USA BMX to continue racing. These memberships can be purchased online or at Capital City BMX. AS stated previously, all on track activity REQUIRES a One Day Trial or Full 12 Month Membership from USABMX.
