First 10 Weeks Program

*Safety is our priority - If you or your child are approached by an individual claiming to be a coach that does not have a USA BMX Coaching License, please contact the coaching department at justin@usabmx.com.  These individuals may not have received background checks, First Aid/CPR certifications or proper training.

Beginner/ Novice Riders are welcome to try our sport for FREE the very first time they come to ride. This One-Day-Trial-Membership allows riders of all ages to ride the track, get guidance from one of our coaches, borrow a bike and helmet or bring their own. Membership with USA BMX is required for all riders at practice and race events; every rider is also required to register every time before getting on the track. We offer open practice once a week as well as during sign up times before every race where our athletes are riding alongside other riders. All riders are required to wear long sleeves and long pants (elbow and knee pads are acceptable alternatives), close-toed shoes, and a helmet when on the track. Kickstands and pegs are not permitted. Beginner/Novice riders are strongly encouraged to participate in races to improve their skills and make friends with others. (Loaner bikes and helmets are available to loan formall fee. You may bring your own bike/helmet from home. Your bike does not have to be a BMX bike, but kickstands and pegs are not permitted. We recommend a full face helmet.)

Our group of USABMX certified coaches puts on a Beginner League several times a year, where Beginner/Novice Riders and their chaperons learn in the course of several weeks how to navigate the track, are introduced to the sport, and build community amongst new riders. Please check our social media posts for upcoming Beginner Leagues.

Intermediate/Expert Riders are welcome to attend clinics regularly put on by our coaches or Pro riders who travel to our track throughout the year to teach. Please keep an eye on our social media posts for clinic dates adn times.

Vet Pro and USA BMX certified coach, Tanner Sebesta, hosts clinics geared for more experienced riders who are looking to take their racing to the next level. The best place to stay up to date on Tanner's clinics are on the track facebook and instagram or on Tanner Sebesta's instagram and facebook.

What is the First 10 Weeks Program?

F10W poster

The First 10 Weeks program is designed to take a new rider from the sidewalk to the podium.  A USA BMX Licensed Coach will guide each rider through 10 individual lessons that will increase confidence, skills, speed and safety on the track.  While in the First 10 Weeks Program, a coach will be able to give you feedback on your races and practices and help to tailor your experience to your needs.

When can I start?

You are able to start the First 10 Weeks Program at any time.  The first clinic(s) in the series are known as Intro to BMX and get you ready to practice on your own and prepare you to start at any point in the cycle of the First 10 Week Program

How can I sign up?

Head up to the registration window and ask for information regarding your local coach and programs. We offer the ability to purchase a package which includes a membership, coaching and racing session all in one, just like you would for any other sport.
