First 10 Weeks Program
*Safety is our priority - If you or your child are approached by an individual claiming to be a coach that does not have a USA BMX Coaching License, please contact the coaching department at justin@usabmx.com. These individuals may not have received background checks, First Aid/CPR certifications or proper training.
Beginner/ Novice Riders:
USABMX certified coach and rider, "Big Al" Freeman, coaches beginner clinics on Saturday mornings. The class is perfect for new riders who are wanting to work on their skills and are just starting out and being introduced to the sport. These classes take place every saturday unless otherwise noted on facebook and instagram. The schedule is subject to change due to weather or special events. We also postpone the beginner clinic during the Capitol City BMX Beginner League.
To join Big Al's Beginner Clinic, you do not need to pre-sign, just come on out. Loaner bikes and helmets are available. You may bring your own bike/helmet from home. Your bike does not have to be a BMX bike and we recommend a full face helmet. Long sleeves and pants are required to ride the track. The fee to join the clinic is $25 cash.
The Beginner League is a 5 week long course for beginner "novice" riders to introduce each rider to the sport and build community amongst new riders. This is done typically bi-monthly depending on track schedule and special events. Big Al also coaches the league along with Track Operator, Tanner Sebesta, and fellow riders from our local track. The league fee is $150 which includes a track jersey, number plate, 5 weeks of coaching, and 5 discounted races. For more details on the next league dates, please email us. We can also add your rider to the waitlist upon request.
Intermediate/Expert Riders:
Elite Pro and USABMX certified coach, Tanner Sebesta, hosts weekly clinics geared more for experienced riders who are looking to take their racing to the next level. The best place to stay up to date on Tanner's clinics are on the track facebook and instagram or on Tanner Sebesta's instagram and facebook.
Along side local coaches, we host events with coaches who travel to our track throughout the year. Keep an eye out for these pop up events for your rider!
What is the First 10 Weeks Program?
The First 10 Weeks program is designed to take a new rider from the sidewalk to the podium. A USA BMX Licensed Coach will guide each rider through 10 individual lessons that will increase confidence, skills, speed and safety on the track. While in the First 10 Weeks Program, a coach will be able to give you feedback on your races and practices and help to tailor your experience to your needs.
When can I start?
You are able to start the First 10 Weeks Program at any time. The first clinic(s) in the series are known as Intro to BMX and get you ready to practice on your own and prepare you to start at any point in the cycle of the First 10 Week Program
How can I sign up?
Head up to the registration window and ask for information regarding your local coach and programs. We offer the ability to purchase a package which includes a membership, coaching and racing session all in one, just like you would for any other sport.
