NSBMX Coaching
The NSBMX Club is commited to providing both recreational and developmental training opportunities to riders that are both age and stage appropriate. To support this, we have established a developmental pathway within the club that is designed to support all riders from beginner to exoert.
RECREATIONAL TRAINING
If you are new to the sport of BMX, or a recreational rider (competing occasionally at local races only) the club offers a variety of training and racing opportunities for you to build your skills and confidence in both training and racing environments. NSBMX provides FREE Club Coaching for all levels of riders. Each session will cover aspects related to starting gate, corners, pumping, learning to manual then on to jumping for fun and jumping for speed.
There are two sessions of Coaching each week:
Saturdays with Coach Ethan 9am-11am. Open Gates to follow until noon. These sessions allow all riders to experience the track, meet other riders, and buiLd our community.
Monday Hi-Performance Coaching with Coach Alex. Novice riders 5:30-6:30pm. Intermediate/Expert 6:30-7:30pm
Bring your bike, full-face helmet, gloves, long sleeve shirt and long pants. Loaner bikes and helmets are available at a first come first served basis.
DEVELOPMENT TRAINING
Development Race Team Training programs are designed for riders with ambitions beyond local track racing. This is ideal for Riders who are already, or who are wanting to compete for overall in Provincial, National, and eventually Worlds. This phased Team Training program will prepare riders individually for all aspects of competitive riding, whilst training collectively as a team, for the Race Season, with both Off & Pre Season Training & Race Season training plans, and Rider Development Clinics both on and off the bike.
Riders are assessed using a set of fixed criteria that determine rider readiness, ALL riders must meet the minimum eligibility requirements, and will have the opportunity to progress to the Team Training program "when ready" . This can occur via 3 channels
-
BY INVITATION - Riders identified during the race season
-
BY RECOMMENDATION - Coaching Recommendation from club coaching sessions
-
BY APPLICATION - via Expression of Interest form
Each season will include 4 training phases, within a periodized training plan designed to optimize rider performance through the entire season. Expression of interest forms along with more details on the DRT program can be found on the NSBMX_RACE_TEAM linktree
The development race team is not run by North Shore BMX/Inter River BMX and does not collect fee's or profit from fee's paid.
